Compound II

ree

6-phenyl dihydro imidazo thiazole (Compound II)

Two hundred and forty-six horses have been treated with drugs resulting in Compound II with 33 reported adverse events. Adverse events include death, elevated CRP values, and  immune-related adverse reactions (irAEs). All adverse events should be reported to the prescribing veterinarian or dispensing veterinarian. Renal function affects the length of time Compound II takes to clear in serum and urine, be sure and have a CBC and Chemistry checked before starting any new treatment. A pharmacokinetic analysis of Compound II given to 6 horses showed that after 7 days of daily dosing the clearance time was 14 days in serum and 21 days in urine. The pharmacokinetics of Compound II are dose and duration dependent with the accumulation index determined using the equation 1/1 – (e–λz*tau), where tau represents the dosing interval. Use this equation to find out how long Compound II will affect your horse, put the dosing interval you used in tau. It is possible that once initiated irAEs will be permanent. There are no standardized diagnostic and assessment criteria for irAEs in horses. Until the pathogenesis of Compound II in horses with neuromuscular disease are elucidated treatment strategies for irAEs  remain elusive and the subject of continuing debate. The discontinuation of exposure to Compound II is a logical first step.
